Welcome to the first edition of Deepest Red, a new quarterly magazine which seeks to preserve and celebrate the stories of people whose lives have been touched by the world’s greatest sporting institution, Manchester United Football Club. Part fanzine, part social history project, we aim to document the experiences of the people who make United what it is; fans who have spent lifetimes at the forefront of the changing face of our support, players who inspire our devotion for reasons that go way beyond football, and unsung heroes who have devoted themselves to the club without fanfare or reward.
With our first edition on the theme “Home”, we’re starting small, but dreaming big. We explore what home means to fans, players, and others associated with the club. We’ve interviewed fans about their experiences at Old Trafford, sought out some fantastic photos of fans at Old Trafford through the years, and invited some brilliant writers to reflect on their relationship with United and how it has changed, for better or for worse.
We recommend this digital edition for those who live outside the UK as we are unable to ship internationally at the moment. If you’re inside the UK, we highly recommend the print edition to get the full feel of the magazine. Delivery of the digital issue is via instant download of the PDF file.
